A beach hut is exposed to conditions that would challenge any structure: driving south-westerly rain, salt-laden sea mist, powerful UV radiation in summer, and the freeze-thaw cycle of a coastal winter. Keeping water out and controlling moisture inside are the two most important things you can do to protect your hut and extend its life.

Roof Repairs & Replacement

The roof is your beach hut's first line of defence. We inspect, repair, and replace roofing felt, rubber membranes, and timber substrates. We also check and re-bed any ridge cappings, fascias, and guttering. A sound roof prevents the moisture ingress that causes structural decay and mould growth inside the hut.

Sealant Application

Movement joints, window and door reveals, and cladding butt joints are all potential water entry points. We clear out failed sealants, prime the substrates, and apply appropriate marine-grade sealant products, restoring the weather barrier at every vulnerable joint.

Storm Damage Prevention

We can carry out a pre-season weatherproofing check that specifically focuses on storm vulnerability — checking fixings on cladding and roofing, ensuring doors and shutters close properly and are fitted with appropriate hardware, and identifying any weak points that a severe storm might exploit.

Ventilation Systems

Paradoxically, good ventilation is essential to keeping a beach hut dry. Controlled airflow prevents condensation from building up inside the structure, which is as damaging as external moisture ingress. We install and maintain soffit and ridge ventilation, as well as checking that existing ventilation is functioning correctly.
